Sometimes the best part of movie night isn't the movie!
It was Saturday evening, and Lori had everything planned for a perfect movie night with her boyfriend, Tommy. ❤️
She had picked out a suspenseful thriller, prepared a big bowl of freshly popped popcorn, and made herself a nice, warm cup of tea. Tommy, on the other hand, had grabbed himself a cold beer. πΊ
Everything was ready!
Well... almost.
There was just one tiny problem.
Tommy absolutely hated thrillers. π
It wasn't that he was scared of them. Oh, no! Tommy was a cool, laid-back kind of guy. The type who could wear sunglasses indoors and somehow make it look perfectly normal.
But suspenseful movies? Those just weren't his thing.
He would usually start watching with Lori, last about twenty minutes, and then either fall asleep on the sofa or casually suggest they watch something else.
"Hey, babe... wouldn't a nice comedy be better?"
"Shhh! Tommy! This is the good part!" Lori would reply.
And that would be the end of that conversation. π
But tonight, Tommy had a different plan.
You see, Tommy had a little weakness.
He absolutely adored Lori's cute feet. π¦Άπ
And as luck would have it, Lori was sitting comfortably on the sofa in her oversized pajamas covered in bright neon-green butterflies, with her bare feet resting nearby.
Tommy glanced at the television.
A mysterious figure was lurking in a dark alley.
He glanced at Lori.
She was already hugging a cushion, completely absorbed in the movie.
Then he glanced at her feet.
π‘ An idea was born.
"You know what? I think I'll sit down here on the floor, babe."
"Mm-hmm," Lori replied without taking her eyes off the screen.
Tommy smiled.
Perfect.
He settled himself beside the sofa, gently took one of Lori's feet in his hands, and gave the sole a soft little kiss. π
Lori barely noticed.
On the television, the mysterious figure was slowly approaching an unsuspecting woman.
"Oh no... don't go in there!" Lori whispered nervously.
Tommy gave her foot another affectionate kiss.
"Mmm... this is nice," he murmured.
"Tommy! Shhh! She's about to open the door!"
"Right, right. Sorry, babe." π
A few minutes passed.
Lori was practically on the edge of her seat.
The woman in the movie had entered an abandoned building. Strange noises echoed through the hallway. A door creaked open.
Meanwhile, Tommy was having the time of his life.
He wasn't paying attention to a single thing happening on the television.
In fact, if someone had asked him who the villain was, he probably would have guessed the popcorn bowl. πΏπ
Suddenly, Lori gasped!
"OH NO! LADY! GET OUT OF THERE!" π±
Tommy nearly jumped out of his sunglasses!
"Whoa! What happened?!"
"He's right behind her, Tommy! RIGHT BEHIND HER!"
Tommy quickly glanced at the television.
"Oh. Yeah. That guy."
Then he looked back at Lori's foot.
"Don't worry, babe. I've got everything under control." π
"What are you talking about?"
"Uh... nothing! Enjoy your movie!"
Lori shook her head and returned her attention to the screen.
Tommy smiled to himself.
And so the evening continued.
Lori had her thrilling movie, her warm tea, and plenty of popcorn.
Tommy had his cold beer, a comfortable spot on the floor, and a very happy heart. π
By the time the credits rolled, Lori was completely satisfied.
"Wow! That was such a good movie! Did you like it, Tommy?"
Tommy nodded confidently.
"Best movie night ever, babe."
"Really?! What was your favorite part?"
Tommy thought for a moment.
A very, very long moment.
"Uhhh... the feet?"
Lori blinked.
"The WHAT?" π³
Tommy grinned.
"I mean... the feat! The amazing feat of the hero escaping at the end!"
Lori narrowed her eyes suspiciously.
Then she looked down at her bare feet.
Then back at Tommy.
"You didn't watch a single minute of that movie, did you?"
Tommy simply smiled and raised his beer.
"To movie night, sweetheart!" π»
Lori couldn't help but laugh.
"Oh, Tommy... you're hopeless!"
And although they had spent the evening enjoying two completely different things, one thing was certain.
They both couldn't wait for their next movie night together. ❤️
The End. πΏπ
